Beverly Fryer McCowen, 83 years old, beloved mother, precious and beautiful wife of 64 years and best friend forever, peacefully, and in the presence of her loving family, departed this world and flew to glory on Friday, May 6, 2011.
The Guest Book is expired.
Beverly was born in Santa Rita, N.M., on June 14, 1927. She was the daughter of J.T. and Myrtle Fryer. She attended Texas College for Women and her notable accomplishments are too numerous to list. She met William McCowen at McCarran Air Force Base in Las Vegas during World War II. She married William on Dec. 21, 1947, in Walla Walla, Wash., while he was attending the University of Denver. They returned to William's home in Cornwall On Hudson, N.Y.
Beverly saw beauty in all of God's creations, a lady who loved our Savior Jesus Christ and walked with him every day of her life. She is loved by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Lt. Col. (Ret.) William McCowen; her sons and daughters, Michael and Llano McCowen, Clinton and Lisa McCowen, Nathan and Debbie Lyons, and Shane Place. Her grandchildren are Christian and Ryan McCowen, Brittney and Nathan Lyons, Matthew and Jordan Couch, and Courtney and Nathaniel McCowen; her great-grandchild is Layla Rose McCowen.
Beverly's wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Christopher Reid, Dr. Jerry Leventhal, the Rev. Charles Sanson, Gentiva Hospice and their representatives, Robin Pryor Swarthout and Andrea Bard, and the Navarre and Fort Walton Beach Fresenius Medical Care Clinics.
Goodbye My Love.
