Master Sgt. (Ret.) George H. Edgeworth passed away Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the age of 86.

Sgt. Edgeworth retired after 20 years in the Air Force, having served in World War II and Korea. He worked for Texas Instruments, both in Texas and Florida, and retired after 18 years. In retirement, he worked as a volunteer in the National Parks. He also created beautiful wood furniture for friends and family.
George was married to Aprill Shannon in St. Louis on Oct. 30, 1954. He is survived by sons, Richard Edgeworth of Tampa, Fla., and Timothy Edgeworth of Garland, Texas; grandchildren, Hunter Edgeworth of Tampa, and Jennifer Ray (Ryan) of Fort Worth, Texas; great- grandchildren, Aiden and Andrew of Fort Worth; brothers, Therman (Winfred) of Daphne, Ala., and Earnest of Northport, Ala.; sister, Martha Sullivan (James) of Gordo, Ala.; and various nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by son, Jeffery Lee Edgeworth.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 14, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 154 Calhoun Drive, Destin, Fla., of which George was a member. The Rev. Stephen Yates will be officiating at the service. A reception will follow immediately in the fellowship hall. Interment will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla., with full military honors, on Monday, April 16, at 1:15 p.m.
