Julius Rasch Weichbrodt, born in Peotone, Ill., Sept. 19, 1926, was a graduate of American Television Institute and received a Bachelor of Science and a master's of Electrical Engineering at the University of Florida. He died Oct. 7, 2011, of natural causes and was cremated.

Clara Stevenson Weichbrodt, born Aug. 26, 1931, in Witt Spring, Ark., was a graduate of the Mather School of Nursing at Baptist Hospital of New Orleans, La. The two met in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. They celebrated 55 years of marriage July 16, 2011. Clara died last Wednesday, Nov. 28, of natural causes.
The Weichbrodts were long time residents of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Julius worked with armament fuse systems at Eglin Air Force Base. Clara was an obstetrics RN, then an LPN instructor at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Fla., and later a second grade teacher at Rocky Bayou Christian School in Niceville, Fla. Upon retirement, they served two years working for Baptists in Hong Kong in the late 1990s.

Graveside services for Julius and Clara Weichbrodt of Pensacola, Fla., will be held Monday, Dec. 10, at 11:45 a.m. at Fort Barrancas National Cemetery inside Pensacola Naval Air Station.
In addition to the burial on Monday, there will be a memorial service for Clara at First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach today at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Gideons International, of which both were active members in the Fort Walton Camp, or Hospice or Alzheimer's Family Services.
