Leo Montoya, age 84, has been a resident of Albuquerque, N.M., for two years. He passed away Feb. 6, 2013. He was born in Las Vegas, N.M., and he served his country during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam wars for 26 years, retiring in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., where he made his home. He is survived by a son, John and wife, Karen; and daughter, Sandra of Albuquerque. He is also survived by a sister, Jose-phine Gonzales and husband, Manuel; very caring niece, Cindi Herrera; niece, Edie Sandoval and husband, Bennie; nephew, Mike Gonzales and wife, Cindi; Manny Gonzales and wife, Monica, all from Albuquerque; nephew, Dino Herrera and wife, Mary, of Alexandria, Va., and Frank Herrera Jr. and wife, Geri, of Las Vegas, N.M. He is preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice and Guadalupe Montoya; sister, Rosie Herrera and husband, Frank, of Las Vegas, N.M.; and his older son, Richard of San Diego, Ca.
