Mrs. Mary Pender Derck, age 60, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013. She was born Aug. 29, 1953, in Marianna, Fla., to Robert Pender and Evelyn Thomas Pender.

Mrs. Derck was Methodist by faith and a member of Point Washington United Methodist Church. She was a resident of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. She graduated from Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, Ga., receiving her bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. She owned and oper-ated Uptown Girls, Lilly Pads and Goodie 2 Shoes in Grayton Beach, Fla. She was very experienced in Fashion Design and Interior Design. She was a very talented cook and greatly enjoyed her work.
Mrs. Derck is preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Thomas Pender.
Mrs. Derck is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Tony D. Derck, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; father, Robert R. Pender, of Seagrove Beach, Fla.; two sons, Keanen Derck, of Santa Rosa Beach and Daniel Derck of Hicksville, Ohio; daughter, Tracey Harris and husband, Philip, of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Bob Pender Jr., of Marianna, Fla., and John Pender of Atlanta, Ga.; and sister, Evelyn A. Pender, of Tallahassee, Fla.
A time of visitation will be held 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at Point Washington United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at Point Washington Methodist Church with the Rev. Spencer Turnipseed of-ficiating.
Floral arrangements are being accepted or donations may be made to Emerald Coast Oncology at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast.
Burial will follow in the Gulf Cemetery.
