Margaret Mangum passed away peacefully on Dec. 31, 2013, with her daughter and grandchildren by her side in Boise, Idaho. Margaret's fight against cancer has come to an end. She is survived by her children, Leslie Mangum Crane and Freddie C. Mangum Jr.; her grandchildren, Paisley Yokomizo, Jordan Craig and Perri Smith; and her great-grandchildren, DJ, Hailey, Levi, and Maleah and another great-granddaughter on the way. Margaret is also survived by thousands of students that she poured her heart and soul into teaching.
Margaret has been a pillar in our community for 40 years and as an elementary school teacher for 38 years, Margaret's passion for teaching was truly one out of love. One cannot tell you enough how she cherished every one of those years. She began her career at Florosa Elementary School and wrapped up her career at Edwin's Elementary School.
The Lord played a large part in Margaret's life. She loved the scripture and rejoicing with others. She was always a fixture at her local church where she constantly served as a volunteer. Margaret was always one to help another at the drop of a hat.
Margaret always looked for the best in each and every one she ever met. Please rejoice in the life she lived because she made the world a better place. Heaven is a bit richer today with the addition of Margaret Mangum.
