Lois Hatch Obituary

Lois Wilson Hatch
1926-2016
Lois Wilson Hatch of Fort Walton Beach, Florida passed away on August 29, 2016. She was the daughter of Grace and Earl Wilson of Wyandotte, Michigan. Loving wife for 46 years of the late Jay A Hatch, she was the beloved mother of Mikelle Venable, Jay Hatch Jr. and John Hatch. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Dyonne Venable, Ashley Hatch, Jay and Jesse Hatch and 1 great-grandchild, Hudson Aldrich.
Lois was born on February 18, 1926 in Wyandotte, Michigan, youngest of two children. She graduated from Wyandotte HS in 1945 and from Michigan State University in 1948. That summer she married her high school sweetheart, Jay A Hatch who had just graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point, NY. Together they sent the next 30 serving their country and raising their family at numerous military installations throughout the world.
Lois's passion was volunteer work and supporting the families of soldiers deployed in her husbands' unit. She volunteered many years as a Red Cross Candy Striper at several hospitals. She spent over 50 years supporting and leading various groups in the Episcopal churches her family attended throughout the years. And at the military bases she was always active in the Officer's Wives clubs supporting community issues and deployed soldier's families.
After Jay's retirement from the military in 1978, they settled in Tucker Georgia. Lois stayed active running the Women's 18-holers at Ft McPherson Golf Club, the Altar Guild at St Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, and travelling to see her children and take care of her grandchildren throughout the US.
She will buried next to her husband in a private ceremony at the US Military Academy, West Point, New York.
