Eugene Fischer Born: May 16, 1928 Died: Dec. 12, 2014 Eugene (Gene) Fischer, age 86, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away on December 12, 2014. He was born May 16, 1928, to Ben and Hilda Fischer. Gene was a veteran of the Korean War. He spent his entire sales career representing companies like Kohler and Onan in the generator industry. He retired with his wife, Pat, to Arkansas. After Pat passed away in 1994, he later moved to Minocqua with his wife, Kathleen. There he worked as a part-time groundskeeper at Timber Ridge Golf Course. He would walk to work early every morning and have his coffee and donut before work. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. He loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. For the past year, he lived at Lake Barrington Woods in Illinois to be near his family. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Ahearn); son, Steve (Kathy) Lamal; 3 grandchildren, Stefanie (Dave) Wachter, Katie Lamal, Maria (Joe)Taylor; five great grandchildren, Shawn, Eric, Ashley, David and Mia; and one great great grandchild, Alec. Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Pat (Kaster); son, Tom; his parents, Ben and Hilda Fischer; and two brothers, Jim and Jerry Fischer. A private service was held at St. Anne's Catholic Church, in Barrington, Illinois. Gene returned home to Green Bay and is buried in Fort Howard Cemetery. Lorna M. Friedel Born: Jan. 8, 1935; in Mendota, IL Died: Dec. 17, 2014; in Loves Park, IL Lorna M. Friedel, age 79, of Davis, Illinois, formerly of Huntley, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 17, 2014, at Lincolnshire Place in Loves Park. She was born January 8, 1935, in Mendota, Illinois, the daughter of Emil and Lucille (Bauman) Schlesinger. She is survived by her husband, Ronald; three daughters, Cindy (Paul) Mattingly of Waupaca, WI, Connie (James) Manny of Grand Rapids, MI, Lori (Martin) Zaccardo of Brownwood, TX; two step-sons, Charles (Maureen) Friedel of Woodstock, Stanley (Laurie) Friedel of Woodstock; step-daughter, Millie (Michael) Donahoe of Davis, IL; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; twelve step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman (Diane) Schlesinger of Plano, IL, Mervin (Kay) Schlesinger of Mendota; sister, Donna Ganz-Bauer of Mendota; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Donald McCollum; granddaughter, Sara; step-son, Jeff; and sister, Charlotte. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11008 N Church St, Huntley with the Rev. Robert Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church from 1:00 until the 2:00 p.m. service. Burial will follow in the Huntley Cemetery. Fruhauff Jr., Frank H. - Tomah, Wi  
Frank H. Fruhauff, Jr. Born: Dec. 25, 1924; in Chicago, IL Died: Dec. 17, 2014; in Tomah, WI Frank H. Fruhauff Jr., 89, of Tomah, WI formerly of Fox River Grove passed away peacefully at home on December 17th, 2014. He was born on December 25, 1924, in Chicago, to the late Frank and Mary (nee Pitter) Fruhauff. He attended Crane Tech HS and joined the ROTC while working at his family's butcher shop. He graduated in 3 1/2 yrs with honors and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy where he served on the USS Battleship New Mexico during WWII. Following his military service he married the late Rosemarie Malmborg. They had two children and moved to Fox River Grove, in 1956. During this time, Frank and his family opened the "Big F Food Fare" in FRG. On June 6, 1981, Frank married June A. Kriz at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Cary. They relocated to Arizona where they lived for 24 years before returning to Illinois. They then moved to Tomah, WI in 2007 where they lived until Frank's death. His joy in life was his family and being involved in community service. He was a lifetime member of the FRG American Legion, member and president of the FRG Lions Club, served on the auxiliary police department of FRG and also on the board of Directors at First Security Bank of Cary-Grove. Frank was instrumental in bringing Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington to the NW suburbs. He served as President of the Chamber of Commerce for both FRG and Cary. Frank is survived by his wife, June of Tomah, WI; son, Greg (Sherry) Fruhauff of Litchfield Park, AZ; daughter, Deborah (John) Opatrny of Cary, IL; stepson, Larry (Lucia) Kriz of Elgin, IL; stepdaughter, Kathleen Wood of Algonquin, IL grandchildren, Katie (Adam) Deitemeyer, Beth (Jeff) Koopman, Laura Fruhauff, Justin (Christina) Opatrny, Tyler (Tova) Opatrny; step-grandchildren, Diana and Natalie Kriz, Jeremy and Nicholas Wood; great grandchildren, Christopher and Trinity Fruhauff, Grace and Nora Deitemeyer and Cameron Koopman; sister in law, Arlene Fruhauff; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer and Edward Fruhauff; and step-grandson, Nathaniel Wood. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26th, 2014, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave. (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27th, at the funeral home. Internment with full military honors will immediately follow at Windridge Cemetary, Cary.
