HARVARD – Demos James Archos, 41, of Harvard, passed away Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011.
He was born June 19, 1969, in Evanston, to Lee D. and Eugenia (Pipikios) Archos.
Known for his golden heart, brilliant mind, keen humor, magnetic smile, and twinkle in his eye, he was a big, loving teddy bear to all. With a lifelong love of all music, his passions included skiing, snowmobiling, fishing and golfing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and fiancée, the love of his life, Tina Polanek.
He is survived by his parents; and his fiancée. He was the brother of Angelique (Joseph) Doyle; grandson of the late Demos and Angeliki Archos and the late John and Stavroula Pipikios; nephew of Dean and Paula Archos, Maria (the late Panos) Bourlokas, the late Evans (Demetra) Archos, Georgia (the late Andreas) Giannakopolous, John (Helen) Archos, Greg (Georgine) Pipikios and Mike Pipikios; cousin of the late Demos J. Archos and the late Angelique P. Archos and many other cousins; and friend to many.
The visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Funeral prayers will be said at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at the funeral home before proceeding to St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church of Elgin, 525 Church Road, Elgin, for a 10 a.m. Mass celebration. Interment will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park, 8012 Ridgefield Road, in Crystal Lake.
