James ‘Big Jim’ Watzlawick

ALGONQUIN – James "Big Jim" Watzlawick, 57, of Algonquin, lost his battle with cancer Friday, Nov. 23, 2012.
He was born Sept. 27, 1955, in Elgin.
He was the proud owner of Watz Home Inspections for almost 20 years. Jim loved riding his Harley and adored his wife. He loved traveling with friends and fishing. Family was important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki; children, Jennifer Watzlawick, Stacy (Craig) Harthan, Eric Hagen and Samantha Collins; grandchildren, Ashton, Landon, Rylann, Jimmy Zitnik, Kevin Hagen, Addison Hagen, Brooke Harthan and Brittany Harthan; brothers, Joseph (Dawn) and Gerald (Michelle); and a sister, Jody Watzlawick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosalie Watzlawick; a sister, Elsie; and brother, John Watzlawick.
A celebration of Jim's life will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Willow Funeral Home, 1415 W. Algonquin Road, Algonquin. Casual attire and bikes welcome.
A short service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home. Pastor Greg Bowman of West Ridge Community Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park and Nature Sanctuary in Cary.
