Noreen L. Simonsen Noreen L. Simonsen, nee Raia, age 71, of Elgin, IL and Palm City, FL; beloved wife for 44 years of Dale Simonsen; mother of Scot Simonsen (Meghan); proud grandmother of Jake, Lucas, and Ava Simonsen; Sister of Bruce Raia (Karen); cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Noreen was raised by her parents, Anthony and Bette Raia, in Hillside, IL. She attended Nazareth High School in LaGrange, and graduated from Loyola of Chicago where she cheered the Loyola Ramblers to the 1963 NCAA Basketball Championship. Noreen taught grade school for three years and then worked for TWA for 10 years. She was an avid golfer, spending many weekends on the golf course with her husband, son, and friends. Funeral, Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 9:30 AM from Russo's Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road (between Mannheim and Wolf Rd), Hillside, IL 60162 to St. Domitilla Catholic Church, 4940 Washington St., Hillside, IL 60162. Mass 11:00 AM. Entombment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Christ the King Garden Mausoleum. Visitation Friday, April 11, from 4:00-8:00 PM. For additional info (708) 449-5300.
