McHenry – Sean E. Becker, 41, of McHenry, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at his home.
He was born March 26, 1970, in Miami. He was born with a heart condition and had his first open-heart surgery when he was 4 weeks old.
Music was his life; he had an extensive record collection, and would proudly be considered a "Dead Head." He followed the Grateful Dead for many years while they were on tour. He also worked at Full Cyrkle Records in Crystal Lake from the time he was 15 until they closed. He loved The Three Stooges and other old movies. He worked at Borders in McHenry for many years until just before their closing. He also attended AA in McHenry. He loved his kitty, Ruby, whom he rescued. He had many friends who cared greatly for him.
He is survived by his mother, Donna (Gary) Evenson; his father, Claude (Heidi) Becker; his stepmother, Yvonne Haggerty; his brother, Troy Becker; his half-sister, Courtney (John) Cassaras; his stepsiblings, Troy Evenson, Traci (Latham) Lewis and Teri Zies; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandma, Pat Sorenson.
The visitation will be from 4 p.m. Friday, May 27, until the 6 p.m. memorial service at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
