Daniel Reeves Obituary

ALGONQUIN – Daniel A. Reeves, 44, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 8, 2011, at his home after his 15-year battle with cancer.

He was born July 28, 1966, in Des Plaines, to James and Nancy Reeves.

He was self-employed and was known to most Algonquin businesses and residents as an honest and hard-working painter. He was an outspoken advocate against cancer and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an amateur drummer and constantly listened to the blues. He had a sense of humor that was a source of joy to everyone he shared it with. He loved his personal comfort dog, "Jade."

He was a devoted husband of 18 years to Susan J. Reeves; loving father of Trevor J. Reeves; the dear brother of Susan (Tim) Drecoll of Lilburn, Ga., and Kevin Reeves of St. Charles; and is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

The visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the services at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 300 Jefferson St., Algonquin, with fellowship immediately following in the activity center with light refreshments.

In lieu of flowers, a trust has been established for his son, and funds may be given to the family or contributions in his memory to the Relay For Life Association, http://main.acsevents.org/goto/rememberingdanreeves.

Sue and Trevor, Can't imagine what life will be without Dan in the "hood". He was a true inspiration to everyone he met. His laugh was contagious and is forever etched in my mind. RIP Dan, you will be greatly missed.
