Jeanne Marie Molitor Thelen

DeKALB – Jeanne Marie Molitor Thelen, 82, of DeKalb, died Monday, June 6, 2011, after a 30-year battle with Stage IV breast cancer.
She was born Dec. 8, 1928, in Chicago, to Josephine and Henry Baxley.
She graduated from Maryknoll Academy and St. Clement's High School and then attended Illinois College in Jacksonville and majored in bookkeeping studies.
She had been employed at Frey-Hanchett Insurance, Burrens, and lastly at Kenyon Brothers Dairy Farms as a bookkeeper for more than 24 years before retiring and moving to DeKalb to live with her son, Michael, and his family.
She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in DeKalb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John (Jerry); her husbands, Elmer Molitor in 1964 and Leo Thelen in 1997.
She is survived by 10 children, Bill (Betty) Molitor, Yvonne (Michael) Vallone, Sandra (Greg) Godon, Craig Thelen, Kevin Thelen, SueAnn Thelen, Sheryl (Michael) Brasel, Byron Thelen, Peter Thelen and Michael (Yevette) Thelen; 24 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren with four more expected this year.
The visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 10, at Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home, 310 Oak St., DeKalb, with a 7:45 p.m. wake service. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb. The Rev. Kenneth Anderson will officiate. Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at River Valley Memorial Gardens in West Dundee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
