Tracy Beyer Obituary

CRYSTAL LAKE – Tracy Marie Beyer, nee Monaghan, 51, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully Monday, June 6, 2011, at Rush University Medical Center surrounded by family and friends.
She was born June 1, 1960, in Anchorage, Alaska.
She was the office coordinator and part of the Crystal Lake Fire Department family for 18 years. She recently graduated from Benedictine University, summa cum laude, with a bachelor's degree in management. She was an avid reader who lived for weekend camping trips and family gatherings. She was a selfless friend to all and valued family and friends who became family above all else.
Throughout her courageous battle with breast cancer, she never lost her sense of humor, radiant smile, and strong, Irish will to survive. She remained a constant force of hope and was her family and friends' rock until the very end.
She will be deeply missed by all the lives she touched. She also will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and her two beloved puppies, Bailey and Izzy.
She was the beloved wife of 26 years to Mark Beyer; loving mother of Jon, Michael, Kelli and Katie; and dear sister of Robin, Jim, Sharon, John Jr., Jocelyn, Michele and John Robert. She also is survived by her mother-in law, Marmee Beyer.
Her wish of having "grandbabies" will be fulfilled in August, following the birth of her first granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law.
The visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 10, with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Please make checks payable to Susan G. Komen and forward to the family. The family will be participating in the walk.

Our deepest sympathy to you Mark and your family. You Mom is a friend of mine from way back and I remember you also. So sad. I've gone through breast cancer too, but luckily it was caught early, and haven't had any further problems. Our prayers are with you and your family that God will give you the strength as you go thru this.

I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on the snow. I am the sunlight that ripened grain; I am the gentle autumns’s rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush, Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there; I did not die.
An Irish farwell prayer. Tracy will be missed by all who knew her. My prayers go out to her loving family.

In my role with EMS I had many opportunities to work with Tracy over the past 18 years. It has truly been a pleasure to know Tracy in her role with the Crystal Lake Fire Department. Whether we were talking in her office or speaking over the phone her smile was alway radiant, and seemed to make the day seem bright. She will be truly missed.

Kelli & Family,

Although I never had the opportunity to meet your mother, I know if she was anything like you - she must have been incredible! I can't imagine your sorrow at this time, but I hope that you are comforted when you think of the celebration that happened in Heaven when she left all of her worldly suffering to be in a better place. I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Tracy has left her legacy in her children and the memories of her family. Hers was a life well lived, full of love and support for those she cared about. I will miss her and I know she will be missed by others. I take comfort in the fact that she didn't suffer unnecessarily and that she set such a sterling example for her family and friends of how to deal with adversity with grace and compassion. I trust she is in a better place.

To Tracy's family - Beyer & Monaghan, cousin Julie Brown Fox (one of Betty & Bill's 10 and Tracy's "Dad" John's godchild) sends her heartfelt sympathy and love to you all. I didn't know Tracy personally but she definitely comes from a great family, including Bobbie whom I did know. I remember when the entire "tribe" came to Springfield, PA, to visit the Brown family when we were all kids. We are strong, we are resilient, and those who have left us physically remain in our hearts eternally.
Much love,
Julie Fox

I knew from the moment I worked with Tracy at the Gemini Restaurant in Denver, back in the mid-80's, we would be friends for life. Tracy was always upbeat, kind, caring and a very loving woman. She will be sorely missed.
