Nancy J. Kimnetz Obituary

WOODSTOCK – Nancy J. Kimnetz, 68, of Woodstock, died peacefully Saturday, May 14, 2011 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born July 10, 1942, to Herme T. and Marie (Hasenauer) Henningsen. She moved to North Lake in 1952 and graduated from East Leyden High School in 1960. She worked as an executive secretary for Alberto-Culver.
On Feb. 27, 1965, she married James J. Kimnetz.
She earned her associates degree in accounting from the College of DuPage. She worked as an accountant for the law firm of Vescelus, Powell and Stock and later worked for Knox Presbyterian Church in Naperville until her retirement in 2005.
She enjoyed playing pinochle, doing needlepoint, researching genealogy and reading. She also had an affinity for the water, ponds and geese. She loved cats, and she loved to travel to Scotland, Ireland and around the U.S. meeting people.
She is survived by her husband, James J. Kimnetz of Woodstock; her son, Jim H. (Amanda) Kimnetz of Huntley; her sister, Judy M. Wilmer of Huntley; and three nieces, Theresa, Sheryl and Patricia.
The visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois.
