Stanley A. Kulesa Obituary
LAKE IN THE HILLS – Stanley A. Kulesa, 91, of Lake in the Hills, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at his home.
He was born April 28, 1919, in Detroit, to Anthony and Josephine (Najmola). He married Virginia Golochowicz on May 18, 1946, at St. Hyacinth Church in Detroit.
He was a proud Marine combat veteran of World War II, having fought in the battles for Guadacanal, Tarawa, Saipan and Tinian.
He retired from General Motors, serving as fire chief for the GM Tech Center in Warren, Mich. He also was a baseball umpire for the Detroit Federation for 37 years.
His incredible devotion to Virginia, the love of his life, spanning over six decades, was and continues to be a source of inspiration for family and friends alike. A man of integrity, his patience and optimism are both our legacy and our challenge. Although our family will miss him greatly, we are thankful that he now is at peace in the Lord's hands.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; his daughters, Marcia (George) Wines, Carla (Gary) Holloway, Paula (Mike) Vander Boom, Donna (John) Kapcia and Patty (Tom) Bennett; his son, Kevin (Lynnette) Kulesa; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Hill, Shelley (Waterson) Calhoun, Robin (Oscar) Ramirez, Ryan Holloway, Rebecca (Tim) Sheehan, Anthony (Mandy) Root, Jason Kapica, Kelly Kapcia, and Jessalyn, Miles and Madison Bennett; his great-grandchildren, Melissa, Sarah and Allison Hill, Melia Ramirez and Noah Stanley Bennett; and his sister, Virginia Zajdel.
