MARENGO – Bette Bildner Arnold, 94, of Marengo, died Jan. 18, 2013.|
She was born April 14, 1918, in Hillsdale, Mich., to John and Bertha Bildner. On March 30, 1940, she married Ralph Arnold in Ann Arbor, Mich.
She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member and retired elder of First Presbyterian Church of Marengo, a member of the Kishwaukee Valley Garden Club and a 50-year member of the Marengo Women's Club, Home Circle and Starlighters.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Donald) Bliss of Bethesda, Md.; son, Jeffrey (Gail) Arnold of Woodstock; grandsons, Stuart Arnold of Poplar Grove and Bion N. Bliss of Bethesda; granddaughter, Christine (Michael) Learman of Woodstock; great-grandchildren, Katlina and Addison Arnold, Calliope Bliss, and Cayla, Michael and Andrea Learman; brother, Tom (Pat) of Hillsdale, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph "Jeff" Arnold; grandsons, Guy Arnold and Evan Bliss; and her brothers and sisters.
She came from a large family and loved and enjoyed all of them.
Coffee will be served in Bette's honor following the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday, Jan. 27, at First Presbyterian Church of Marengo, 203 W. Washington St., Marengo.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Marengo.
