FOX RIVER GROVE – Charlotte M. O'Connor, 72, of Fox River Grove, passed away suddenly Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.|
She was born May 26, 1941, in Woodstock, and was a 1959 graduate of McHenry Community High School.
Prior to her retirement in 2000, she was a 36-year employee of Alexander & Alexander/Aon Corporation in Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Houda in 1971 and Georgia Houda in 1994; her husband, Jerry in 1989; and brother-in-law, Robert Reid in 2010.
She is survived by a son, Robert Wilson of Libertyville; sisters, Joan (Raymond Sr.) Grandt of Onalaska, Wis., and Jennifer Reid of Sealy, Texas; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Her joys in life included spending time with family and her many close friends, traveling, watching Chicago Bears and Chicago Blackhawks games, and placing $2 show bets on the favorite at Arlington Park.
The visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Windridge Funeral Home, 104 High Road, Cary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in memory of Charlotte O'Connor, to Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
