Darryl M. Dobrolinsky, 56, of Huntley, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018, after a heroic battle with cancer.

He was born September 7, 1961, in Berwyn, IL, the son of Walter and Lorraine (nee Toppa) Dobrolinsky. After the Eighth Grade his family moved from Chicago to Huntley, IL where he was very active in high school sports and graduated from Huntley High School in 1979.

After several years as an employee of Caisson Corporation in Northbrook, IL, Darryl studied Business Management and Marketing and graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science. He was an active member of the Sigma Chi International Fraternity.

After graduation, he was employed by several corporations and was last employed by the United Stated States Postal Service. He was an avid Chicago sports fan, outdoorsmen and traveler.

He is survived by his mother, Lorraine; his loving brothers, Keith (Lisa), and Dean (Natalie); and dear nieces, Lauren, Darian, Hannah, Megan and Riley.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Dobrolinsky.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at the James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St., Huntley with a wake service at 6:30 pm. He will lie in repose from 9:00 a.m. Monday, March 12, until the Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee/Huntley Road. Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.

The family wishes to thank all the many caregivers during his ordeal including Evanston Northshore University Health System, Barnes Jewish Hospital, Centegra Health System, Fair Oaks Nursing Home, JourneyCare Hospice and Thresholds.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be directed to Journey Care Hospice and Maryville Center for Children.
