CRYSTAL LAKE – Doris A. Laudicina, 71, died Wednesday morning, June 27, 2012, at her home in Crystal Lake after a long illness. |
She was born Sept. 11, 1940, to Mary and Edward Burczyk of Menomonee Falls, Wis.
Doris studied English at Marquette University in Milwaukee, where she met her husband of 52 years, Jay Laudicina. They were married Sept. 17, 1960.
Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. Her smile was infectious. She was an excellent bridge player, an avid golfer and loved to garden and spend time with her family – especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Jay, and her three children, Jill Wyatt, Laurie (and Tom) Fleck and Cheryl (and Scott) Bigney. She has six grandchildren: Justin and Jenna Wyatt, Ryan and Reagan Fleck and Christopher and Carrine Bigney, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Doris also is survived by two sisters, Mariette Eilbes and Karen Blau, and brother, Charlie Burczyk.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary; her father, Edward; and a brother, Nick.
The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at St. Thomas the Apostle church, on the corner of Oak Street and Route 176, Crystal Lake.
Interment will be private.
