Elaine Wallace Post Obituary

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS – Elaine B. Wallace Post, 79, of Arlington Heights and formerly of Carpentersville, died Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview surrounded by her family.

She was born June 16, 1931, in Berwyn, to the late George and Gertrude (Eichert) Weber.

She was a longtime faithful employee of the Elgin Daily Courier News and the Daily Herald newspapers, where she worked in the classified advertising department. She loved spending time with her family and friends and particularly enjoyed traveling, playing cards, board games and bingo. She also was fond of feeding the squirrels and birds in her flower garden.

Survivors include her children, Donald (Linda) Wallace, Steven (Deborah) Wallace and Kathryn (James) Fonte; her grandchildren, Steve Jr. (Jamie) Wallace, Monica (Mike Arnold) Wallace, Adam and Brandon Wallace and Spencer Fonte; her great-granddaughter, Lillian Wallace; her brother, James (Alice) Weber; her sister-in-law, Dot Weber; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Donald Wallace; her second husband, Bill Post; her brother, Robert Weber; and her sister, Ruth Macejak.

The visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. The visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, until the funeral at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Dundee Township East Cemetery, East Dundee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Congregational Church, Handicap Lift Fund, 1628 E. Main St., Huntley, IL 60142.
