Elsa M. Strite, age 85, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014, while in the company of family members, at her residence.
Elsa was born in Overkalix, Sweden on May 7, 1929, a daughter of the late Eduard and Alma (Olson) Johanson.
She was married to Lloyd "Bud" Strite on March 13, 1982, in Chicago.
She graduated nursing school and was a registered nurse for 45 years, working at Swedish Covenant and Edgewater Hospitals in Chicago, then working as medical assistant for Dr. O'Donnell in Evanston for over 16 years, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of Wonder Lake Bible Church in Wonder Lake.
Elsa loved hiking and skiing, enjoyed her gardening and was an excellent cook.
She is survived by her husband, "Bud"; a sister, Gunnel Ragner of New Glarus, WI; a niece and a nephew.
Elsa was preceded by two sisters and two brothers.
Memorial visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2014, until the memorial service at 11:oo a.m. Friday, at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home, 10011 Main St., Richmond, IL. Rev. Merle Conklin will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Bible Institute, 820 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, IL 60010.
