JUNCTION CITY, Ore. – Evangeline M. Svejcar (nee Donovan), 91, passed away peacefully at home in Junction City with her family by her side on Sept. 22, 2013.|
Evangeline trained as a registered nurse with the United States Cadet Nurse Corps at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Aurora. She married John F. Svejcar in Crystal Lake in 1948. John and her parents, Raymond and Mary Donovan, preceded her in death.
A nurse, small-business owner and loving mother, she is survived by her six sons, John, Jeffrey, Frank, Michael, Will and Thomas; and her four daughters, Mary Lou Svejcar, Margaret "Peggy" Henson, Bonnie Svejcar and Maureen Barrie. Evangeline is also survived by six grandchildren; and her loving sisters, Rosemary Azzaro of Sun City, Ariz., and Rita Donovan of Redwood City, Calif.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor "Sr. Paula" Donovan; and her brother, Harold Donovan.
A funeral Mass was held at St. Mary Catholic Church, Eugene, Ore., on Oct. 1. A private family burial took place at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Eugene.
