Died: December 29, 2018

Evelyn "Evie" Fischer, age 90, of Woodstock, passed away December 29, 2018. A beautiful voice has been added to the heavenly choir. She was born on December 20, 1928 to Roger and Ella (Beu) Scofield. She married the late Theodore Fischer on June 29, 1973.

Evie was the office manager for Dr. John R. Tambone for over 40 years. She was a very active member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Woodstock. She sang in the choir, served on numerous committees, and attended bible study. She was active with Easter Seals when it was first formed and was also a member of the Woodstock Fine Arts Association. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and watching chickadees and cardinals out of her window. Evie was a happy, loving person with a gentle heart. She was kind and generous to all and deeply loved her cherished friends and family.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Marcie Williams of Rockford and Carrie (Jim Rooney) Williams of Fox River Grove.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, step-father Robert Atkins, husband Theodore Fischer, and sister Carole Roth.

Visitation will be Friday, January 4, 2019 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock IL 60098. The visitation will continue Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. Johns Lutheran Church from 10:00am until the funeral service at 11:00am. Entombment will be at McHenry County Memorial Park Cemetery in Woodstock.
