HUNTLEY – James Alan Morbeck, 79, of Sun City, Huntley, died peacefully Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at his home with his devoted wife, Nancy, by his side.|
He was born Dec. 17, 1933, the son of Alan and Saima (Gustafson) Morbeck.
In 1960, he married Nedra Mead, and they had four children. After her death, he married Nancy Stoner in 1987 and became a stepfather to her three children.
Jim was a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He held several patents in his name. He was heavily involved in the community in his early years as a baseball coach, umpire and bowling coach. Jim was a loyal friend of Bill W. for 27 years.
He is survived by his children, Richard (Nora) Morbeck, Mark (Tiffany) Morbeck, Paul Morbeck and Leah (Steve) Hathorn; stepchildren, Ken (Sarah) Stoner, Karen (Jay) Notzen and Gayle Stoner; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Nedra.
The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, Oct. 19, at Shepherd of the Prairie, 10805 E. Main St., Huntley.
