McHENRY – Janice M. Adams-Podhorsky, 71, of McHenry, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at Centegra Hospital – McHenry.|
She was born Dec. 7, 1939, in Greenwood, to Clarence and Frances (Adams) Ostrander. On Dec. 7, 1985, she married John Podhorsky in McHenry.
She loved to read and write letters, enjoyed collecting angel figurines, and sold Avon for more than 30 years. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her monthly lunch group and visiting with friends and family.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years, John Podhorsky of McHenry; her children, Rick (Mary) Adams of Spring Grove, Michael Adams of McHenry, Terry Jo Kress of Wonder Lake and Brenda Evertsen of Johnsburg; her grandchildren, Rachel (Bret) Rohde of Genoa City, Wis., Kirsten Kress of Wonder Lake and Melanie and Jake Evertsen of Johnsburg; her great-grandchildren, Joey, Jason, Justyn, Jacob and Jersie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Don Ostrander; and her aunt, Edythe Koehler.
A memorial service will be at a later date at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
