PORT ORANGE, Fla. – Jennifer M. (nee Sopata) Lukas, 35, of Port Orange and formerly of Cary, passed away March 8, 2013, at Pepper Family Hospice Unit in Barrington.|
She was born Sept. 21, 1977, in Maywood, the daughter of James and Sharon Sopata.
She is survived by her parents; her husband, Joseph Lukas; a stepdaughter, Elaina Lukas; a sister, Danyl (Teri) Sopata; a brother, Zachary Sopata; a niece, Jayden Sopata-Rahn; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jennifer was an infant swim instructor. She enjoyed snowboarding, snowmobiling and loved the beach. Jennifer was a fun-loving free spirit who was loved and will be missed by all.
The visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Road, Cary.
The funeral Mass celebration will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 410 First St., Cary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Elaina Lukas Education Fund.
