WONDER LAKE – John C. Wenzlaff, 64, of Wonder Lake, passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at his home.|
He was born July 4, 1949, in Chicago to Helmut P. and Florence (Schult) Wenzlaff. On Feb. 13, 1971, he married Karen M. Walton in Chicago.
John worked for more than 30 years at Matrix IV in Woodstock. He was with Wonder Lake Company No. 2 Fire Department for 13 years. He was a member of the Woodstock Moose since 1992. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and most especially a beloved husband, father and wonderful grandfather.
Survivors include his mother, Florence; his children, Regina (James) Millar of Crystal Lake, Steven (Elise) Rini of Twin Lakes and Christopher Rini of Rockton; grandchildren, Alexander Millar and Anthony, Samantha, Emily and Allison Rini; and brothers and sister, Gary (Brigette) Wenzlaff, Cindy (Michael) Saelinger and Glen Wenzlaff.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen, on June 14, 2012; his father, Helmut Wenzlaff; and a brother, Bruce Wenzlaff.
Memorial visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry. Interment will be private.
