Kathleen Mary (Hartigan) Lennon, of Bristol, Wisconsin, 81 years of age, passed away on January 6th, 2019, after a long illness. She was surrounded by her children at the time of her passing.

She was born to Francis Martin Hartigan and Frances (Campion) Hartigan on February 14th, 1937, at their family home in Norwood Park, Illinois. Upon Kathleen's father's retirement, Francis bought a farm and became a Justice of Peace in Lake County, IL.

Kathleen graduated from Grant Community High School in Fox Lake, Illinois, in 1954.

Kathleen followed in her fathers footsteps, when she was elected to the position of Avon Township Clerk in 1989. Kathleen was a lifelong public servant, from volunteering at the schools her children attended, to becoming the P.T.A president, she was always willing to give. She was elected to the position of Avon Township Clerk. She served in that position from 1989-2005.One of her proudest accomplishments was to open the Avon Township Food Pantry. Kathleen was also elected as Trustee to the Village of Lakemoor, in 2007, where she served on the police committee throughout her tenure. She retired in 2017.

Kathleen's greatest title was being called 'Mom". This was not limited to just her biological children, but was also to well over a dozen kids that sought refuge in her home.

She is survived by her five children, William (Jackie) Lennon, Cheryl Lennon, Maureen (John) Uzzardo, Kurt (Ann) Lennon, and Kelli (Ashley) Peacock. Ten grandchildren, Mary (Jamie) Franklin, Rebecca Parfrey, Amber Zumski, Jason (Shannon) Fuller, Kathleen(Kenny) Vernon, William Lennon III, Kurt (Allysha) Lennon Jr. Maureen (Jerry) Lennon, Tabitha Lennon and Ben Lennon. She also had numerous nieces and nephews that were part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Geraldine Weber, Joan Gould, and Loretta Lennon. She was also preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Edward Zumski III.

A memorial service will be held at Maravela's in Fox Lake, Illinois, on Saturday, January 12th, 2019, from 11:00 am to 2:00pm.
