Larry Kick Obituary

RICHMOND – Larry E. Kick, 75, a 13-year resident of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at Centegra Hospital – Woodstock.
He was born June 3, 1935, in Sterling. He was a former 30-year resident of Libertyville.
He was a Marine Corps veteran. He was a former Lake County deputy sheriff and retired in 1986 after serving for 25 years with the Deerfield Police Department.
He was a member of the Illinois Police Association and after retirement entered into the landscape construction business. He enjoyed boating, fishing, snowmobiling, traveling and was a Bears fan.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Rosalie (Horak) Kick; three children, Dawn (Tom) Roth of Pueblo West, Colo., Troy (Connie) Kick of Kenosha, Wis., and Robin Kick of London, England; eight grandchildren, Jamie, Joshua, Jennifer, Jesse, Devin, Dalton, Mckayla and Mikal; five great-grandchildren; and his brother, Wesley (France) Kick of Mundelein.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lucille Kick; and his sister, Loretta Gumbiner.
The visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the services at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at Burnette-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are appreciated.
