POPLAR GROVE – Margaret Andrews, 94, of Poplar Grove and formerly of Marengo, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Florence Nursing Home in Marengo.|
She was born June 11, 1918, in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., to Clayton and Alma Amelia (Phillips) Waite. On Aug. 31, 1940, she married Harold Andrews.
Margaret lived in the Marengo area for more than 65 years.
When she first moved to the area she worked at Woodstock Typewriter.
She also worked at Admiral in Harvard, although she spent the majority of her time working at Arnold Engineering, where she retired at the age of 62, on the same day as her husband.
Margaret was very active in the union.
She enjoyed craft projects, especially crocheting. She also loved spending time in the woods and in their cabin up north; she was known to have been the best shot in her family.
She is survived by her sons, Alan (Pat) Andrews and Howard (Gail) Andrews; and her sister, Geraldine Frank.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents; and her brother, Donald Waite.
The visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Highway, Marengo.
Burial will follow at Marengo City Cemetery.
