HARVARD – Marie B. Wagner, 77, of Harvard, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at her home in Harvard.|
She was born Aug. 5, 1935, to William and Carrie Mae (Clemmons) Wicke in Congress Park. On Feb. 27, 1954, she married Clifford George Wagner at First Presbyterian Church in Harvard.
She was a CNA for more than 30 years and had worked at the Harvard Rest Home and the Harvard Hospital. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Harvard, the Senior Citizens Group and the Women's Auxiliary of the Harvard Fire Department. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, garage sales, watching "I Love Lucy" and game shows.
Her loving family includes her children, Patricia (Al) Brown of Marengo, Joyce Wagner of Harvard and Keith Wagner of Harvard; two grandchildren, Julie (Nathan) Schultz of Capron and Kelly (Andrea) Maynard of Janesville; nine great-grandchildren, Rachel Schultz of Capron, Amber Schultz of Capron, Kelly Maynard Jr. of Walworth, Jarrid Maynard of Rockford, Jakob Maynard of Rockford, Sandy Bowers of DeKalb, and Sarah, Mike and Matt Bowers of Janesville; and four siblings, Grace Polege of Wausua, Wis., Phyllis Wagner of Oswego, Helen (Bill) Roeske of Hinckley and Robert (Lil) Wicke of Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, on Oct. 6, 1997; parents; son, Martin Wagner; four brothers, James Wicke, Herb Wicke, Art "Ed" Wicke and Paul Wicke; and a sister, Carol Wicke.
The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Jeff Borgerson will officiate.
