CRYSTAL LAKE – Marjorie "Midge" E. Fish, 85, of Crystal Lake and formerly of Marengo, passed away Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at her home.
She was born June 19, 1927, in Earlville, to Edward and Inez (Schrecengost) Fitzgerald. On June 21, 1947, she married Bert C. Fish in Dixon.
Midge retired from the McHenry County Government Center Circuit Clerk's Office after many years of service. She previously was very active in the breeding and showing of dogs and the Wheaton Kennel Club. She was an elder at Marengo Presbyterian Church and a member of Ridgefield-Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church. She was an avid Bears fan. She also was a loving mom, grandma and great-grandma.
She is survived by her children, Dennis (Linda) Fish, Richard (Patricia) Fish, Robert (Corinne) Fish and Geri (William) Leonard; her grandchildren, Andrew (Sunny), Christopher (Paula), Elizabeth, Robert (Cassie), William, Michael, Brittany (Brandon), Benjamin, William Jr., Joseph (Julie), Megan and Michelle; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert, in 1974; her parents; and her brother, James Fitzgerald.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Highway, Marengo. The visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, Aug. 10, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Marengo City Cemetery.
