JOHNSBURG – Martin Francis Quinn, 82, of Johnsburg, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Hospice of Northeastern Illinois in Barrington. |
He was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Chicago, to Martin Halvey and Margaret Alice (Byrne) Quinn.
A licensed chemical engineer, he was a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology and Leo High School. He retired from his engineering career to be closer to his family and pursue other business interests in which the full family could participate.
He was a hardworking, humble, simple and kind person with strong values. He was thankful for everything God gave him and always gave back to those less fortunate.
Martin loved to live on Pistakee Lake and enjoyed sailing and hunting with his dogs and son.

Survivors include his children, Rick (Janet) Quinn, Tim Quinn and Kim (Gary) Wagner; grandchildren, Jim and Tim Quinn, Ryan (Elisa Puracchio), and Kaitlin and Meghan Wagner; brother, Richard (Bernadine) Quinn; sister, Veronica (Jack) Galbreath; sisters-in-law, Norta (John) McAndrews and Charlotte (Jim) McDonough; and many nieces and nephews. He was especially close to David Quinn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ann Quinn; and a sister, Margaret Ann Bartsch.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Thursday, Jan. 24, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 3500 W. Washington St., McHenry. Interment will be private.
Memorials can be directed toward kind deeds for the less than fortunate or to St. Patrick Catholic Church or Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.
