McHENRY – Ramon Proa, 62, of McHenry, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Centegra Hospital – McHenry.|
He was born Aug. 31, 1949, in Mexico to Miguel and Maria Antonia (Diaz) Proa. On Feb. 7, 1976, he married Roxanna Garza at St. Patrick Church in McHenry.
Ramon was a co-owner with his brother Ruben of Proa Blacktop in McHenry. He was a man who was willing to help anyone in need 24/7.
He enjoyed time with his family and friends, and was loved by everyone he touched in his life. He enjoyed welding and auto body. He lived a very fulfilling life in 62 years.
Survivors include his wife, Roxanna; his father, Miguel Proa; children, Ramon (Jami) Proa Jr., Alejandro A. Proa and Andres Proa; grandchildren, Michael, Brooke, Matthew and Gabby, and McKenna and Anthony Scherze, whom he considered to be one of his own; brothers and sisters, Ruben (Debbie), Jose, Juan, Martha, Mercedes, Calletano, Gabina and Maria De Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria; sister, Margartita (Jorge) Vorjas; and brothers, Benjuamin and Benito.
Prayers will be said at 10:20 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, proceeding to St. Patrick Church for a 11 a.m. Mass. Interment will be private.
