Rita May Lopotko (nee Parkinson), age 86, of Crystal Lake, formerly of Mount Prospect, Illinois for 42 years, died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Bickford Senior Living in Crystal Lake.
Rita was born in Chicago to William and Mary Irene Parkinson. She was united in marriage to Alex Lopotko in 1951. They were married for over 60 years.
Rita was known for her kindness to all and her sweet disposition.
She graduated from Jones Commercial and worked as a secretary. She also worked at Fannie May in Mt. Prospect for several years and was active in many Clubs at St. Raymond Parish in Mt. Prospect. Rita loved playing bunko with the younger neighbors who enjoyed her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Lopotko of Mt. Prospect, Jerry and wife, Cindy Lopotko of Mt. Prospect, Nancy and husband, Kirk Immens of Lake in the Hills, Robert Lopotko of Mt. Prospect; and grandchildren, Kate (Immens) and husband Alex Staley of Chicago, Alyssa Hildebrandt of Glenview, and Jillian Lopotko of Mt. Prospect.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Lopotko; her brothers, William, Charles, and F.X. (Kelly) Parkinson; and sisters, Margaret Versgrove of Cary, IL and Ann Grish of Chicago, IL.
Services will be at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 West Central Road at Northwest Hwy., Mt. Prospect, IL on Thursday, July 10, 2014, from 4:30 to 7:30PM.
