Obituary Condolences

McHENRY – Roy Clifford French, 72, of McHenry, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Alden Terrace of McHenry.
He was born May 20, 1939, in Peekskill, N.Y., to Burton and Mable (Wood) French. Roy was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army.
He had been a resident of McHenry for the past 50 years. He was a pipe fitter for Local 597 and had earned his 50-year pin. He also was the proprietor of the Fitter Inn in Lakemoor for more than 10 years.
Roy was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 158 A.F. & A.M., the Tabala Shriners and the Polish Legion of American Veterans of McHenry. He was an avid fisherman and loved to travel.
He is survived by two children, Brian French and Lori (Kevin) Wilson, both of Abilene, Texas; his grandchildren, Tiffany and Willamina; and a sister, Edith Fritz of South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mable; and two brothers, Robert and Richard.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 4, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry.
There will be a service at 7 p.m. Friday, May 4, conducted by the Polish Legion of American Veterans of McHenry, followed by a Masonic service, McHenry Lodge No. 158 A.F. & A.M., at 8 p.m.
