He was a Navy veteran and worked as an independent sales rep in the packaging industry. He was a volunteer Little League Coach for over 20 years, a member of the Libertarian Party for 40 years and active with the Toastmasters Club of Crystal Lake.
He was a man who lived a life of quiet dignity. He loved, cherished and protected those who he cared about most. He was honest and ethical. He was deeply respected and admired by everyone who knew him. He was deeply loved by many and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Barbara; children Ray, Wendy (Tom), Lisa (Mike) and Billy (Kathy); four grandchildren, Cameron, Erika, Dillon and Ben; sisters Fran Holt and Alice (Dan) Spillard; and nieces, nephews and many friends.
A memorial visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
