UNION – Steven R. Wallace, 57, of Union, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago after a short illness.|
He was born July 10, 1955, in Berwyn, the son of Donald Wallace and Elaine Wallace Post.
He grew up in Carpentersville and on March 26, 1977, was united in marriage to Deborah L. Sharpsteen. The couple made their home in Union and owned and operated Refinishings Unlimited in Huntley.
Steven currently owned and operated Marengo Auto Body in Marengo.
He was a very active member of First Congregational Church in Huntley. He had been a driver for Faith In Action, was very kindhearted and quietly gave of himself to others to enrich their lives. He especially enjoyed his family and friends, and loved being husband, father and "Papa." He also traveled the world with his wife, loved golf and loved being outdoors.
Steven is survived by his loving wife, Debbie of Union; his sons, Steve (Jamie) Wallace Jr. of Belvidere and Adam Wallace and his fianceé, Sumer Allensworth, both of Denver; granddaughter, Lillian Wallace; grandson, Conrad Wallace; brother, Donald (Linda) Wallace of Hampshire; sister, Kathy (Jim) Fonte of Sarasota, Fla.; niece, Monica Wallace; nephews, Brandon Wallace and Spencer Fonte; uncle, James (Alice) Weber; aunt, Dorothy Weber; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Steven's life will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at at First Congregational Church, 11628 E. Main St., Huntley. A service will be at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Steven R. Wallace Memorial Fund.
