MARENGO – Wayne K. Beto Sr., 76, of Marengo, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Centegra Hospital – Woodstock. |
He was born Jan. 19, 1937, in Park Ridge, to John Henry and Margaret (Detlefsen) Beto. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
He was an opinionated man but always willing to help others. He loved the outdoors, whether he was fishing or camping. He enjoyed watching sports. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Wayne (Andrea) Jr., John and Craig (Patty); his grandchildren, Damon and Travis Beto, Brandon and Morgan Beto, and Gavin Beto; and siblings, Shirley (Lee) Eilken and Charles (Marilyn) Beto.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack Beto.
The visitation will be from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 6821 Main St., Union. The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. in the church.
