William Yerk Obituary
He was born Dec. 31, 1936, in Belvidere, to Herbert and Loretta (Spotz) Yerk. He married Peggy Yates on Sept. 1, 1956, at Inverness, Fla.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed for many years as an over-the-road truck driver and was very proud of his excellent safety record. As a man of easygoing temperament, he made many friends. He was a wonderful dad, and he also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed a good video and harness racing at the Boone County Fair every summer.
He will be sorely missed by his extended family.
Survivors include three sons, Danny (Laura) Yerk of Marengo, William Yerk Jr. and Jeff (Deann) Yerk of Canton; his daughter, Donita (Keith) Hopper of Marengo; two brothers, Paul (Bonnie) Yerk and Larry "Gus" (Patti) Yerk of Belleview, Fla.; his grandchildren, Brian, Mike and Jill Hopper and Brad and Paula Yerk all of Marengo, Nicole, and Tasha, Kasey and Haley Yerk of Florida, Alexis and Jacob Roach and Holdyn Yerk of Canton; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Peggy on Jan. 18, 1999; and a son, Troy Michael in infancy.
No local services will be accorded. Final disposition will be Saturday, June 11, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Ocala, Fla.
The family requests that memorial donations be made in his name to Zion Lutheran Church, 412 Jackson St., Marengo, IL 60152.

You will me missed Grandpa... I know you are looking down on us everyday, and have probably already yelled at us a few times... Especially me and Jill.
PS- Give me and Jill the strength to make it through your eulogy and poem on Friday... You know we don't handle emotional events well. :)
