CRYSTAL LAKE – Wanda L. Burruss, 88, of McHenry, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at Crystal Pines Health Care in Crystal Lake.
She was born April 10, 1923, in West Frankfort, to Willis and Nellie (Price) Joyner. On Sept. 8, 1967, she married Lee R. Burruss in McHenry.
Wanda was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in McHenry and of FISH. She enjoyed bowling on Tuesdays, was a volunteer with Senior Services and enjoyed spending time with her family in which she attended many family events. She was a former resident of McHenry Villa.
Survivors include her children, Karen (Don) Willis of Davis Junction and Patsy (Jim) O'Shea of McHenry; her grandchildren, Rhonda (the late Jim) Letizia, Rick Scarbrough, Nathan (Cathy) O'Shea, Suzanne O'Shea and Christy Corso; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Robert Behl and Monty Corso; and her sisters, Mary O'Neil and Ruth Covey.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, and will continue from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. service Friday, March 2, at First Baptist Church of McHenry, 509 Front St., McHenry. Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock.
