TWIN LAKES, Wis. – Joseph John Poczkalski, 51, of Twin Lakes, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was born Oct. 21, 1960, in Chicago to Frances M. (Fricano) and Raymond C. Poczkalski. On Oct. 26, 1991, he married Sarah Ann Knight at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg. A resident of Twin Lakes since 2003, he previously lived in Spring Grove for 12 years. Joseph worked in the construction industry, working for many years with his brother at their company, J.P. Drywall. For the past 12 years, he was employed by Lankford Construction of Johnsburg. Joseph enjoyed golfing; spending time with his family, especially on camping trips; music, singing and playing guitar; and fostering music in his children's lives. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sarah; two children, Joseph Jr. and Rachael; his father, Raymond, of Johnsburg; five siblings, Mary (Roger) Smith of Arlington Heights, Paul (Cynthia) of Lisle, Pamela (Michael) LaFontaine of Johnsburg, Raymond (Betsy) Poczkalski of Johnsburg, and Stephan (Meredith) Poczkalski of Johnsburg; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Brian and Jan Knight of Ringwood; two brothers-in-law, Steve (Gina) Knight of Wadsworth, Seth Knight of Colorado; and a sister-in-law, Terri Knight of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances, on June 10, 2012. The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry. The visitation will resume at 8:15 a.m. Friday, June 15, until prayers at 9:15 a.m., then leaving in procession for the 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church, 2302 W. Church St., Johnsburg. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Johnsburg. His family suggests memorials to the Poczkalski Children Educational Fund, P.O. Box 343, McHenry, IL 60051.
