CRYSTAL LAKE – Shirley A. Rhoten, 43, of Crystal Lake, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012, with her loving family by her side, after a long struggle with health issues. Her strength, courage and beauty during her life will never be forgotten.
She was a stay-at-home mother and touched the lives of friends and family. We will strive to match her kindness in the rest of our lives and will know she is smiling on us whenever we see a rainbow or butterfly. Her children, as well as her grandchildren, will remind us of her joy, generous heart and beauty.
Shirley is survived by her loving boyfriend of 16 years, Keith Weltch; daughters, Jessica Carmer and Melissa Rhoten; grandchildren, Christian Birkenstock and Joshua Milliman; her sisters, Susan Rhoten and Nancy Rhoten; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life memorial will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Christian Funeral Home, 3100 W. Irving Park Road, Chicago.
Donations would be appreciated.
