McHENRY – JoAnn E. Hutchinson, 80, of McHenry, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, at the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois Pepper Family Hospice Home in Barrington, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Feb. 29, 1932, in Chicago to Leon and Martha (Broske) Macey. On Sept. 18, 1954, she married William E. Hutchinson at Our Lady of Grace in Chicago.
JoAnn was the beloved wife of William Hutchinson for 57 years, a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who loved to travel, work in her garden, spend time at their summer home and be with her grandchildren and friends. She believed in the power of positive thinking and God, and passed those gifts to her children. Always first with a compliment or a kind word of encouragement, her memory will live on with those she touched.
Survivors include her husband, William E. Hutchinson; children, Thomas (Karen) Hutchinson, Jerry (Cindy) Hutchinson and Susan (Joe) Carson; grandchildren, William, Trevor and Lauren Hutchinson, Liam and Charlie Hutchinson, and Macey and Jack Carson; niece, Jeanine Rocchi; and nephew, Jeff Carlson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Leona Carlson.
The visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 1, at the Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry.
Interment will be private for the family.
