McHENRY – Michael Charles Harry Holzrichter, 59, of McHenry, died Friday, June 29, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock.
He was born March 4, 1953, in Chicago, to Herbert Henry and Louise Velma (Utech) Holzrichter.
A longtime resident of Chicago, Michael also lived in Aurora for many years before moving to McHenry in August of last year.
He was employed by Caterpillar Inc. in Aurora for more than 12 years. Michael was an accomplished musician. He first played the drums and later found enjoyment playing the guitar. He also enjoyed fishing. Free spirited and adventurous, Michael often hitchhiked as a young man throughout the United States.
Survivors include two brothers, Bruce Holzrichter of Cape Cod, Mass., and James (Mary) Holzrichter of McHenry; five nieces and seven nephews; and five great-nieces and five great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1971; his mother in 2002; and a sister, Martha Bostrom in 2010.
There will be no visitation.
Interment will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, in McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock.
