HUNTLEY – Cathy Ann Whiting, 39, of Huntley, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, July 10, 2012, in Park Ridge, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Cathy was born Jan. 10, 1973, in Hoffman Estates, the daughter of Gerald and Carol (Feddersen) Colby. She was raised and educated in Schaumburg, graduating from Schaumburg High School in 1991.
She was united in marriage to Brian M. Whiting on Sept. 7, 1996. The couple made their home in Tulsa, Okla., and in 2001 moved to Huntley. Cathy raised her children and in 2007 started as a bus driver for School District 158. She lived life to the fullest and especially enjoyed her time with her family.
Cathy is survived by her husband, Brian, and children, Joshua and Sydney of Huntley; her mother, Carol Colby of Huntley; brother, David Colby of Sioux City, Iowa; grandmother, Cecilia Feddersen of Tomah, Wis.; and her father- and mother-in-law, Gary (Margaret) Whiting of Schaumburg.
The family will greet friends from noon until a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11008 N. Church St., Huntley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jack H. Marston II Melanoma Fund, P.O. Box 436, Glen Ellyn, IL 60138.
