ELKHORN – Frank L. Heelein, 81, of Elkhorn, died Friday, July 20, 2012, at Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wis.
Frank was born May 8, 1931, the son of the late Joseph and Frederica Heelein. Frank was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served his country during the Korean conflict. He retired from TC Industries after 41 years of service.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Gladys of Elkhorn; two children, Donald (Christine) Heelein and Teresa Tortenson; 14 stepchildren, James (Debbie) Heelein, Brenda (Mark) Hartlage, Brian (Ruby) Gerber, Deb (Gary) Purdy, Butch (Sandy) Sonheim, Donna (Allen) Ames, Karen (Robert) Regnier, Nancy Linzmeier, Dorothy (Brian) Linzmeier, Penny Sonheim, Frank Sonheim, Gary (Donna) Wood, Ken Wood and Jerry (Sara) Sonheim; 44 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, Edward Riddle and Caleb Linzmeier; sister, Mary Klapperich; and three brothers, Nicholas, Joseph and John.
Visitation will be from 9 until 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Southern Lakes Evangelical Free Church, N6686 Hwy. 12 in Elkhorn. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Sweetman officiating.
