HUNTLEY – Donald A. "Butch" Reeves, 69, of Huntley, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at his home following a lengthy illness. Butch was born May 13, 1943, in Elgin, the son of Howard M. and Ethel (Bakley) Reeves. He was raised and educated in Huntley and then moved to Wyoming for a number of years, where he worked as a backhoe operator. On Oct. 14, 1983, he married Linda K. Adams in Sheridan, Wyo. The couple returned to Huntley in 1984, and he worked for Gluth Construction in Woodstock, retiring in 2005. Butch loved horses, country music and enjoyed watching the birds and his western shows. He also loved to dance and tell stories. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Huntley; a son, Shannon of Huntley; his daughter, Sherry (Harold) Wiese of Hampshire; his stepsons, Dwyane (Suzanne) Krenzelok of Poplar Grove and Daniel (Shana) Krenzelok of Marengo; his grandchildren, Nicole, Andrew, Jacob, Mitchell, Hunter, Shayne, Kellie, Piper and Beck; his sisters, Dorothy Piske of Marengo, Deloris (Walter) Hayward of Lakeland, Fla., Donna Reeves of Haines City, Fla., Deborah Reeves of Barbourvilla, Ky., Denise (Adrian) Jackson of Eldon, Mo., and Deanna (Robert) Dominque of Bartow, Fla.; and his brothers, Duane (Sandy) Reeves of Huntley, Darryl (Sherry) Reeves of Forest, Miss., Daniel (Pequita) Reeves of Eldon, Ma., and David (Sharon) Reeves of Cannon, Ka. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Candace; his parents; and his sister, Delcia. A memorial service will be at noon Saturday, Aug. 4, and the family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the service at DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral and Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will take place at a later date in Huntley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois.
